Thanks to a rainy winter in Southern California, a vast bloom of wildflowers has overtaken a patch of desert. With that, we couldn’t resist taking a trip to Anza Borrego Springs. Our very own Mel Gabel, a former resident of Anza Borrego Springs, gave us an informative tour of the area. We made our way down to the super bloom through Highway 86 and saw how much the area at the Salton Sea had grown. Once at Anza Borrego we made various stops where we viewed the wildflowers up close. Before returning home, we stopped at the local’s favorite Mexican Diner and had lunch in the park. A special Thanks to Mr. Gabel for taking us on this great trip.
