Our annual St. Patrick's Day celebration was a hit with the lyrical styles of JJ Dion. This is JJ's third year entertaining us here at The Carlotta. Besides the green beer, he is the added bonus to this celebration. We spent a great afternoon singing along to all of our favorite Irish tunes.
The residents came together with the help of Dining Services and Community Life to host a lovely Grandparents Tea. Every resident that attended was encouraged to bring photographs of their grandchildren and share memories of them. This was a lovely time spent with the residents.
Twice a week our residents enjoy a morning of putting and socializing. This morning was no exception. Where some of the northern states are covered with snow we still enjoy sunny weather with snowcapped mountains...Southern California problems we suppose.
Popular national speaker James McFarlin, author of "Aftershock: A Novel", gave an informative lecture on America's struggle against foreign adversaries-and itself-for national security in the cyber era. After the lecture Mr. McFarlin took time to answer questions and concerns from residents.

Our in-house choir group The Singing Fountains put on a wonderful concert honoring all our Verterans. After the concert we had a lovely picnic out on our Town Center Patio.
The residents had a great time at our annual western hoedown. The country western band had a few dancing but everyone was tapping their feet. There was also a pie baking contest, which our Executive Director won!

Painting is a great medium to express any type of creativity. We held a watercolor class which was taught by Joan, a classically trained watercolor artist. Residents enjoyed their time painting a simple flower and walked away with a lovely painting.

The residents had a great time at our fiesta. They enjoyed everything from nachos to margaritas while listening to the music from Mariachi Nuevo Amanecer.
Our Executive Director, Lisa Hollinger, led a wine tasting class this afternoon. The wines the residents sampled came from Spain. Lisa shared a brief history of each wine and residents also gave the wines their own ratings. It was pleasurable afternoon spent by all.
It was a perfect day for football, food, drinks and fun! Residents geared up to watch the New England Patriots take on the National Football Conference (NFC) champion Seattle Seahawks.
