Carlotta Cares, a group of residents and associates from The Fountains at The Carlotta held a rummage sale, which they called, Kast Off for Kids, to benefit local schools in the Coachella Valley. Carlotta Cares is a philanthropic group dedicated to helping people find ways to Thrive through giving back to the community. The proceeds from the sale helped support three classrooms with special projects throughout the school year. One of the schools, Caesar Chavez Elementary, used the donation to provide transportation to the McCallum Theater for their entire third grade to see a live stage production of Mary Poppins. Mrs. Berenice Pineda, from the school, was so appreciative of the gift that she invited us to the play so we could enjoy it with the students. The Carlotta residents enjoyed visiting with the children and watching the play with them.
